Sea Turtle -- 3-ply Silk Noil -- Calliope
You know how you think: "I like silk but it's too slippery to work with ..." or "It has too much of a drape ..." or "What would I do with silk ..."? Well, this isn't that kind of silk. Commercial, synthetic silk is high-sheen, high-drape. Cedar Hill Farm Company silk isn't so if you love to knit with a fingering weight yarn, then you will love to knit with Calliope. It works up like butter in your hands.
Calliope is a naturally produced, raw silk 3-ply heavy fingering weight yarn that has not been chemically scoured or otherwise altered from its organic state. This kettle dyed silk noil retains its natural elasticity and slight, luminous sheen that is more appealing than synthetic silk. Its drape is similar to that of a linen yarn of similar weight, making it a must-have choice for light-weight garments, including shawls of any stitch type, lace scarves, and lacey tanks.
