Everdene is a contemporary knitted cabled wrap (pdf pattern) that is ideal as a cool weather accessory for any occasion. Detailed with an interlocking series of trophy cables and ruffled edging. The herringbone mid-section creates a dense fabric to protect against wind and weather while the cables and ruffles give the wrap a feminine look. This pattern is designed to be worn vertically buttoned across the left shoulder, and features an interior button to hold the wrap in place.
The inspiration for this design is of literary significance. The pattern's title, "Everdene", is taken from the name Bathsheba Everdene - the principal character in Thomas Hardy's rustic novel Far From the Madding Crowd. As a retired high school English teacher, designer Keya Kuhn had the impression that this wrap would be the type of accessory that a rustic Victorian beauty like Bathsheba might wear while strolling with a suitor or walking to market. The pattern is simple, feminine, rustic, and perfectly urban all at the same time.
